Rubber band DIY: You can make your own power car with rubber bands!

Material: rubber bands, PVC tubes, KT boards, used CDs, pins, old ballpoint pen refills, scissors, double-sided tape, colored cardboard, utility knife, transparent tape, etc.

Steps: First, make the power device of the car. Using rubber bands as power can use its tensile force and torsional force. The tensile force is explosive but not very long-lasting, while the torsional force is relatively long-lasting and stable. After many experiments, we finally chose to use torsional force as the power source.

The rubber band used for the car;

(02)

Use CDs as wheels and PVC tubes as axles, connect the axles and wheels, and drill a small hole at one end of the axle;

(03)

Insert the rubber band into the axle and fix one end to the small hole;

(04)

Fix a used ballpoint pen refill at the other end;

(05)

After the power structure is completed, first check the effect to see if it can move forward on the ground

(06)

Make the front wheels and the chassis of the car, and use ordinary printing paper to make two sleeves larger than the wheel axle on the chassis and glue them firmly;

(07)

Check the forward movement of the car body;

(08)

After the inspection is completed, decorate the car body;

(09)

Complete and beautify;

(10)

Test run and check the effect.

The working principle of the rubber band powered car: Almost all kinds of motor vehicles in life are driven by wheels, that is, the power makes the wheels rotate, and the wheels drive the car body forward through the friction with the ground. Using rubber bands to drive the wheels of the car to rotate, and the wheels then drive the entire car forward, this method is wheel drive. The rubber band will deform under human influence. The force generated when the shape of the object changes to restore the original shape is called elastic force. Within the elastic force range of the rubber band, the greater the elastic force of the rubber band, the longer the action time, and the farther the car moves.
