Simple Understanding of the Two Regulations:
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive)
What does it regulate? Primarily regulates materials in electrical and electronic equipment. If your rubber bands are used in keyboard seals, wire sheaths, or other electronically related products, you must comply.
What does it restrict? It strictly restricts 10 hazardous substances, such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, which are commonly heard of, as well as four phthalates (plasticizers).
